It’s free, and by default, it doesn’t collect any information about its users to protect your privacy.

Download Ghosteryand install it on your browser. You then have two options: either disable cookies for all the websites you visit, or choose in real time which cookies you want to block or allow.

 DISABLE COOKIES EVERYWHERE

In Ghostery's settings, you'll find asection called "Blocking Options"that includes several tabs, one of which is the "Cookies" tab.

Inside, the cookies are listed in four main categories:

• Analytics– These are statistical cookies that track, for example, website traffic.
• Beacons– These cookies serve a wide variety of purposes: for example, they can track how many subscribers have opened a newsletter, suggest other articles on the same topic when you visit a website, and more.
• Advertising– These cookies are used to display relevant ads
• Widgets– Most of these cookies are related to social media: they allow you to follow a site on social media, comment on a site, share articles, and so on.

It's up to you to decide what you want to disable.

 DISABLE COOKIES IN REAL TIME

That’s what Ghostery does by default. It displays asmall blue ghost iconin your browser, which shows the number of cookies detected on each site. By clicking on this icon, you can then block them on a case-by-case basis.
