This concise training program is designed to provide managers with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills.

It combines two core modules—“Mastering High-Stakes Conversations Through Assertiveness” and “Empowering My Team by Giving Purpose”—enhanced by an additional day dedicated to integrating all the content to address more complex issues.

Day 1

  • THE BASICS OF AN ECOLOGICAL AND EFFECTIVE DIALOGUE: Assertiveness, Defensive Behaviors
  • PREPARING FOR AND CONDUCTING A HIGH-STAKES INTERVIEW

Day 2

  • LISTENING AND ENGAGING IN DIALOGUE: A Guide to Conducting Interviews, Handling "Yes, but..." Responses and Objections, and the Role of Empathy
  • TRAINING

Day 3

  • THE MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE THAT GIVES MEANING
  • ESTABLISHING YOUR MANAGERIAL FRAMEWORK
  • SETTING MEANINGFUL GOALS
  • HOW MUCH AUTONOMY SHOULD BE GRANTED, AND WHAT KIND OF SUPERVISION OR MONITORING SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED?

Day 4

  • HOW MUCH AUTONOMY SHOULD BE GRANTED, AND WHAT KIND OF SUPERVISION OR MONITORING SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED?
  • PERFORMANCE-RELATED CONSEQUENCES
  • TOOL FOR DIAGNOSING POOR PERFORMANCE AND ACTION PLAN

Day 5

  • Review of the tools and methods covered throughout the course
  • Progress Report – Opportunities
  • Sharing improvements
  • Resolving participants' questions through collective intelligence

Course objectives:

  • Knowing how to identify your own defensive behavior and that of the person you’re talking to
  • Master a comprehensive approach to preparing for and initiating a high-stakes dialogue
  • Acquire a "toolkit" for dialogue that enables you to achieve concrete results efficiently and respectfully
  • Learn to listen to what the other person is saying without adding your own interpretation, and seize every opportunity.
  • Handle difficult or emotional situations calmly.
  • Practice establishing your framework as a manager.
  • Knowing how to set SMART goals that make sense to the employee.
  • Understand the purpose and components of a job description and use it to define the scope of delegated responsibilities.
  • Understand the relevance of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs for the group and learn to identify individual motivational factors using the SACRE profile.
  • Know how to use situational leadership to determine how much autonomy to grant and how much control to exercise
  • Practice giving corrective and positive feedback (praise) to build on a success
  • Knowing how to use positive and negative reinforcement appropriately.
